Camp is Bustling

Sunday started off with lots of smiles and a tear or two...not necessarily by the campers! As camp staff got the kids unloaded into the right dorm rooms, Bocce Balls were flying, croquet mallets were swinging, flags were captured, and balls were kicked, dodged and thrown. After registration was completed the kids were treated to a standard camp kickoff meal of corndogs, curly fries, and fresh fruit and veggies galore. The evening was filled with mixer games designed to help the kids get to know each other. Games like Ninja Warrior (always a kid favorite), If You Like Me - Smile, Team Body Spelling (groups spelled out camp words with their bodies), and Speeding Meeting (quick meet and greet of obtaining random facts and names of their fellow campers) helped overcome initial shyness and rekindle past friendships .

As the night progressed the kids were given the basic rules of the land, introduced to the counselors and staff, and given a glimpse of this year's skit night replacement - Minute to Win It competitions. A quick ice cream treat topped off the night before the kids headed off to bed...not necessarily to sleep...but at least to bed.
